Tupelo State of Emergency

Because of the local update that the State officials in Northeast Mississippi have declared a state of emergency. After what seemed to be a break in weather, this is the first major winter storm which will bring frigid weather to our region. The Tupelo Mayor Jason Shelton issued a local emergency proclamation today on Sunday, February, 14, 2021.

Declaring the city a disaster area in anticipation of damage caused by the storm. Disaster relief crews are standing by ready to help after the ice storm of 2021. “Tree removal companies will need extra staff and have their best equipment ready to help us, and the city get Tupelo back to the way it was before the storm.”, says Shelton.
